The Cork Tiles collection addresses the dual challenges of acoustic management and sustainable wall covering. Inspired by the depth and rhythm of brick architecture, these tiles provide a sculptural alternative to traditional acoustic panels, blending biophilic textures with certified performance.

Material Origin and Ecological Benefits

Cork is harvested from the bark of the Quercus suber tree without causing any harm to the plant, making it one of the most sustainable and regenerative materials globally. The entire lifecycle—from harvesting to the final tile—is chemical-free and clean. The tiles are sun-dried, ground, and shaped without additives, preserving the natural integrity of the material. This results in a product that is carbon-negative, fully recyclable, and biodegradable.

Modular Profiles and Design Archetypes

The collection comprises four primary models, each offering a unique geometric profile and historical design inspiration. These tiles can be rotated and arranged in various configurations to create dynamic surfaces that interact with light and shadow.

1. Parenthese: Drawing inspiration from the geometric elegance of wood paneling from the 1950s and 60s, Parenthese features a retro texture reinvented for contemporary environments. Its modularity allows for the creation of a "dynamic skin" that shifts based on the viewer’s perspective.

2. Sillon: Inspired by the "Streamline Moderne" style of the 1930s, Sillon is defined by its ribbed or channeled surface. The linear grooves can be installed vertically to enhance the height of a space or horizontally to emphasize width.

3. Brickx: This model mimics the classic staggered visual of brickwork, providing a tactile warmth and structural aesthetic. It is particularly effective for creating large-scale architectural statements on feature walls.

4. Morse: A rhythmic pattern that utilizes varying lengths and spacing to create a code-like geometric display. It offers the most abstract aesthetic within the collection, allowing for highly individualized wall patterns.

Technical and Performance Specifications

The cork tiles are not merely decorative but are certified acoustic absorbers. Their natural density and the sculptural shapes carved into the surface work to trap and diffuse sound waves, significantly reducing reverberation.

The tiles are also biocompatible insulators, resistant to pests, mold, and bacteria. They can withstand extreme temperature ranges from –180°C to +120°C, making them stable in various interior climates.
